Classroom coaching is associated with the long
term skill development of an individual. Coaches are those people who offer
inspiration and guidance and heighten the abilities of others through
motivation and support.
The Socratic philosophy of teaching has set the stage of coaching over 2400 years ago. Eduction plays an important role in the overall development of an individual especially in a country like India. The Indian Education System is growing tremendously and the Indian Coaching system is its integral part.
A report entitled, “Indian Classroom Coaching Industry: Trends and Opportunities (2015 – 2019)” provides a penetration into the classroom coaching market of India and it focus on the preparation for various entrance exams.

1.Exchange of ideas – Classroom training is an interactive session and provides a platform for exchange of ideas. Students can raise questions and exchange ideas with one another and turn the class room into a valuable learning medium.
2.Interaction – Classroom learning is usually a two way communication process. It is an interactive session as students can have a direct face to face interaction with professor and their class mates. Classroom learning encourages active participation and is often known for its multi sensory appeals.
3.Socialize – Class room learning provides two levels of socialization – between students and students, and, between students and professors. It provides a kind of social interaction with one another. The interaction helps the students to develop not only in terms of academics but also in terms of personal issues. Students and professors come from different social and cultural backgrounds. Thus, this difference can enhance the communication and socialization skill of a student.
4.Fewer technological requirements – One faces fewer technological requirements in a classroom learning when compared to e-learning. There are students who face an issue with the computer and other technical knowledge. Classroom training helps the students to overcome these problems very easily.
5.Sense of belonging – Being a part of a classroom gives you a sense of belongingness. A student becomes more responsible when he is in a class room environment. He becomes aware of his surroundings and becomes conscious about his belongings.

1.Size of classroom – Class room encourages passive learning as there is only one teacher and many students. Students do not raise questions or clear their doubts when they loose their confidence. In such situations, the bright students might dominate the class rooms.
2.Ratio of student and teacher – As there is one teacher and many students, it is difficult for the teachers to pay attention to each student individually. This may weaken the confidence of the shy or less brilliant students.
3.Accessibility – Schools and colleges are found in the urban areas and are closed at certain times. For few people, this may cause an inconvenience.
4.Lack of critical thinking – Class room training does not promote critical thinking among the students. Students gain knowledge but they do not understand how, when and where to apply that knowledge. It does not provide the students with a deeper understanding about the matter.
5.Little time for practice – In a classroom training, a teacher has to deliver a huge number of concepts and theories and they rush with the syllabus so as to complete them on time. This gives less practical exposure to the students. Class room training is limited only to presentations which are delivered by the teachers. Practice is given as homework.
