A journey to recognition - A view of Himalaya through the eyes of a great writer and his new book.
Mr.
MK Ramachandran was unknown as a writer till he walked through the Himalayas . He has written three books, out of which the
first one – “Uttarakhandilude Kailas Mansarovar Yatra”, won him the State
Sahitya Academy Award in 2005. His second book – “Tapobhumi Uttarakhand”, made
his name familiar in the Malayalam literary circles. His third book is based on
his journey to Eastern Himalayas and Adi Kailas.
Currently, he is working on his fourth book, “Devabhoomilude” and will be
published by the end of this year.
His first expedition to the Himalayas was guaranteed by the Ministry of External
Affairs, Government of India. His first book was written in the year 2001 but
got published in 2003.
He considers himself as the first
person to travel through all the five phases of Himalaya .
He believes that “True Sanyasis”, exist in the Himalayas .
During his travel through the Himalayas , he
discovered a Lama body which is 575 years old, at a place named Gue. He
describes Himalaya as a “mystic land”.
“I met a lady (90 years old) from
Kuti village, whose ancestors are believed to be inherited a leaf inscription
from none other than Veda Vyasa”, said Mr. Ramachandran. He also added that Himalayas is a storehouse of information and worthy to
explore.
This great writer has also mentioned
in his book about the under sea explorations of Dwarka. There is a mystifying
story that took place with Mr. Ramachandran during his trip to Kailasa. On his
way to Kailasa, he used to stay with a few “Sanyasis” (sages). One day, they
touched the watch of M K Ramachandran, which was tied on his right wrist. And
startlingly, it was noticed that the watch stopped working thereafter. Later on
it was founded that the intact machine of the watch had failed to work and it
was beyond repair.
Mr. Ramachandran said, “There were a
lot of Sherpas to help me and I was carried by a donkey named “Bindu” to an
extent.” He also found out another mysterious fact in the Himalayan region. Lot children followed the “Sanyasis” (sages) who lived in
that area. These children join these “sanyasis” voluntarily and they hail from
the states of Uttarakhand and neighbouring areas. These children are believed
to be the successors of the “Sanyasis” in future.
His readers all over India are
eagerly waiting for his fourth edition by the end of this year. This book will
be published in not only India
but all through out the world.
