Put a Full Stop To Child Marriages!

Child marriages! It’s not something new. We all are aware of it yet we chose to stay silent. Isn’t? Well, it includes me too. We all think, how can we help a girl from being a victim of child marriage. But I guess, we can do. At least, we can make aware of the side effects of the child marriage on these little ones.

Today, I came across three stories of child marriage published by #UNICEF. The three unheard stories of these little girls made me realize that how lucky I was and how unfortunate were they. We should have been lucky enough to go to school and to get educated and earn.

India, especially Bihar, is one of the areas where most of the child marriages take place every year. I just have one question…Why? Why are these innocent girls punished in the name of traditions? Marriage is never a punishment but marriage at the age of 6 or 12 years, is definitely a bane.

Understand and get into your head that a girl is not born to wash the feet of a man all throughout her life. When a girl is forced into a child marriage, she goes through a mental as well as physical torture. And I do not know, what does a man find so attracting in a 6 or 10-year-old child? Man! She’s developing, she hasn’t yet had her menstruation started and you want to fuck her up. Well! That’s where such assholes should be hanged up.

Yes! Today, what I read has increased up my anger to a point where I seriously wish to thrash these men. A 6 inches’ feet man, aged 35 or 40, posing with his wife of 7-year-old. What crueler thing can you hear?

These girls have to undergo a pregnancy at a very stage, wherein 90% of them lose their kids due to poor health and hygiene. They face a lot of mental trauma as they are burdened with household works and work at paddy fields.

As far as I know, I guess, most of the parents force their daughter for child marriage in the name of money. Yes! They need money, so they sell their daughter. Go to certain child marriage prone zones, each house will have at least 10 kids. When you can’t look after them, why do you produce them? These helpless parents sell their elder daughter for money and look after their other kids. Is that fair? No, and it can never be!

Spread the word, so that we can speak out for at least one girl, whose voice is suppressed in the name of child marriage. Educate them, so that you don’t have to sell them and look after your other kids. I am sure, if you educate your one daughter, she will look after her parents and siblings all throughout her life.
