Whose responsibility is to ensure a proper parking? - Public or Administration

Recently, the government of India issued the system of fine to be imposed on people who fail to park their vehicles properly. The new rule imposes a fine of Rs 2500/- on people who violate the parking rule and Rs 5000/- on people who repeat the offence. Parking rules are made in order to provide safety to the vehicle riders as well as the pedestrians. The new law of traffic targets not only the common people but also the government officials. If a police driver or any person from the government sector is found to be parking at a wrong place, fine would be imposed on them too.

We have always been expressing our anger against the administration for not providing sufficient parking slots or the parking not being proper. Is it only the duty of the administration to ensure that we park our vehicles properly? Is it not a responsibility that every driver has to shoulder with the administration for the smooth flow of traffic? What is your take – should it be the public or the administration to ensure that the parking of the vehicles is done properly?

Public

1. Rules are made for our benefit and thus we should not violate them. It is the responsibility of every person to follow the parking rules.

2. Once you are on the road, you should be very conscious about the traffic or parking rules. You should not park the vehicle in places where it is clearly written “NO PARKING”. If we do not behave responsibly, we should not expect the administration to be responsible for us.

3. The citizens of a country are the ambassador of their state or nation. There are hundreds of foreigners visiting our state or nation each day. It is the responsibility of the public to show the foreigners that Indians do not lag behind in ensuring a proper parking space.

4. The traffic police or the administration officials cannot be present at all the places. Hence, the public has to take the responsibility to ensure a proper parking.

5. In India, a lot of traffic congestion results due to improper parking. People at times, park the vehicle in between the road which results in a huge traffic. Thus, to ensure a proper parking place starts with the public.

Administration

1. Indirectly, we the people of India, elect the people who form the administration. The administration should always be concerned about the public and must ensure a proper parking facility.

2. The administration fails to provide traffic police at many important places. They should provide sufficient traffic police, who would guide the public.

3. The rules of the parking may be unnoticed by the public or they may forget the laws due to some stress or pressure. It is the responsibility of the administration to guide them and teach them the importance of a proper parking.

4. It is the duty as well as the responsibility of the administration to provide safety to the public on the road. We pay heavy taxes for all these services.

5. The public may follow an improper parking system due to insufficient place. It is the responsibility of the administration to provide enough space. They should attend to the complaints of the public.

Conclusion

We cannot just blame the public or the administration for not ensuring a proper parking. It is the joint responsibility of both the public as well as the administration to guarantee a proper parking place. In this case, both the public and administration should go hand in hand. If one takes back his hand, we can not expect to be moving on safe and smooth roads. Instead of blaming one another, we should join our hands and also educate others about the importance of proper parking.
